With the increasing costs for health care and health insurance, many people in our communities go without basic health services. People cannot afford annual checkups, preventative care, or simple wellness visits. Health fairs can provide underprivileged and under-served people in your area the chance to receive health services they otherwise would not receive.

These services can help identify underlying health issues before these issues become life threatening. At the health fair, various booths are set up from local hospitals, universities, and wellness and preventive medicine providers to educate individuals about a variety of health issues. These groups also provide basic health and wellness checkups.

The organization’s first step for planning a health fair should include establishing a planning committee. These individuals should be committed to your cause and have adequate time to devote to your endeavor.
